Beach!

A great way to end this summer was to head to the beach for a week with my family!   We all had so much fun, Cody kept saying that this was the best vacation ever!  We went to a place that we used to go to when we were growing up & it was still as great as we remembered.  We could walk to the beach & we could walk to the pool (or really pools, there were 5 pools that were connected by waterfalls).
It was so great to spend some QT with family & Lucy could not get enough of everyone.  By the end of the week she knew everyone's names & to this day has not stopped talking about them.  It was so nice being able to relax & watch Lucy have the time of her life.
It's a little bit of Lucy pic overload, but oh well...

The whole gang at the beach - Grandma, lots of cousins & aunts & uncles!

Lucy & Hannah having a deep conversation

So Happy playing with Aunt Bekah

Cody enjoying a morning at the beach

Ice cream or "iceeem" with Aunt Bekah & Tio Ty

Always running to the beach - she was in heaven!

Not at day at the beach without sandcastles & an elmo bucket

Fun with Aunt Hannah after a yummy breakfast
Loving the beach with Aunt Bekah
Lucy was fearless when it came to the beach.  She would run straight into the water & loved being hit by the waves.

LOVED playing with Grammy

Sweet baby - please don't grow up!

LOVE. watching.her!

Lots of Dad time!

Grammy & Pa - she talks about them everyday!

Being a monkey

Loved being tossed around by Daddy & Pa

We are so thankful that we got to spend that great time with our family in such a fun place.  We miss it but mostly we miss the people!

Sharp Top Cove

Still trying to catch-up on all our summer activities so that I can remember them all.  In July Cody & I (along with some of our other leaders) took about 100 kids for our area to Sharp Top Cove in Jasper, Georgia & it was an amazing week!

I love going to Young Life camp for so many reasons & I hope I get to keep going back for the rest of my life.  I love seeing kids be kids & have the chance to get away from all the crazy stuff they have going on at home b/c if you haven't noticed it's really hard to be a high school kid. But really I love that they get the chance to hear about Jesus & for many of them it's a week that will impact them for eternity.  So thankful we still get to be a part of it.

Lucy went to Grammy & Grandpa camp while we were at camp & had the time of her life, pretty sure it's her favorite place in the world.  I'll have to post pics of her Grammy camp experience sometimes as they are pretty cute.

Most of my pics from camp are on Cody's computer but here's a few that I have on my computer.

A few of the amazing things we did at camp:

Ropes course

Had a blast at Western Night

Spent an amazing week with 100 of our friends

Got to hang-out with some of our amazing volunteer leaders

Watched kids be kids

Had some great conversations about Jesus & real things

And had rode the giant swing

Already looking forward to next year...

So...

We found out what we were having a few weeks ago & I wanted to share it with some of my close friends in a fun way.  I know gender reveal parties have been the big thing lately so why not jump on that band wagon??  I didn't want to find out at the party in front of everyone, so Cody & I went to the doc that morning & found out & then I came home & got to work making a few things for the party.  This was a crazy week for us, we were leaving for camp with our kids in a few days so I had lots on my mind & not enough time to do all the fun party things I wanted to, but was happy with how it turned out.  It was such a fun a way to share the news!

First thing I did was make a cake & colored the inside the color that would reveal the gender.

I had everyone dress in either pink or blue depending on what they thought the baby was.  Cody, Lucy, & I wore pink & blue.  Here is team blue:

Team Pink:

I made a few snacks with the help from my friend, Rachel.

Everyone voted on what they thought baby was going to be:

And wrote down a name suggestion:

Than came the big reveal - we cut the cake....

And the inside was BLUE!!!!

We are so excited to have this little guy in our family!!!  So far this has been a fairly easy pregnancy & I am so thankful for that.  Things are going to get a little crazy for us with 2 but we feel honored that the Lord would allow us to be a part of the lives of a little girl & a little boy.  Baby Boy should be here somewhere around Dec. 12 - can't wait!!

4th of July

I know July 4th was a little while ago, but I never blogged about it so I wanted to post some pics.  It was of course super hot this year, I mean as of today we have had over 40 days of 100+ temps, at 9pm tonight it was 99 outside.  Needless to say it's so dang hot & it was hot on July 4th.  We went swimming with friends that morning & then went to join some friends for dinner.  Lucy was excited to wear red+white+blue!
Sweet little firecracker!

It was a fun holiday & a fun reason to get together with friends, we are thankful to live in this country.

Lake Time

After we got back from camp we spent some time at the lake with Cody's family.  It was a nice time to see cousins, catch-up with family, & enjoy the summer time.

I loved seeing Baby Otto, such a sweet little guy.

 Lucy loved running around everywhere.

Swimming with Harper Belle.

Lucy Jane at camp

Lucy Jane is pretty much having a blast 24/7 this summer.  Pretty sure the worst parts of her summer are the times she is at home with just me - boring!  She LOVED being at camp, what little kid wouldn't?  All you do is eat yummy kid food, have attention from 100's of people all the time, swim any time you want to, & be entertained almost all day everyday.  She can't wait to go back.

She did take some time everyday to stop & smell the flowers, she got very into that!

She loved dressing up for princess night with the girls every week.   Her friend, Nathan, is dressed as a pirate for pirate night with the big boys.

Lots of fun friends!  I love that Lucy gets so much loving from so many great people.

She loved "helping" out - basically dragging supplies from one part of camp to the next.

She helped make a Father's Day breakfast for Daddy.

She loves all stages & spent lots of time on stage when the campers were not around.

Our good friend, Meredith, came to camp with us & we loved spending the month with her.

And last but not least Lucy's favorite part about camp was the big water slide!  It was 3 stories high & I thought Cody was joking when he talked about taking Lucy down it but sure enough by week 2 him & Lucy were pros at the slide.

We all love being at camp & are so thankful for the chance to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.
