Lucy is loving wearing her tutu & practicing twirling. I think it's pretty cute.

A Puffy Vest Kind of Day
Yesterday Lucy Jane & I decided to wear our puffy vests together (although you can't really see mine in the pic). We are definitely not the kind of mother/daughter team that has matching outfits but for some reason I always feel like I have to dress Lucy in the same kind of thing that I am wearing. Like if I am dressed up or dressed down I feel like she should be the same as me. Weird, I know. The puffy vests did well for us except when we were at the book store.....I let her down to look at some books & she ran around saying, "boooook" & pulling various books off the shelf. Then she wanted this toy when it was time to leave & when she couldn't have it she laid face first on the ground & started screaming. It was fun.

Growing too fast
It's not unusual for Lucy to be wearing this kind of outfit lately. She has been growing like a weed lately & is at kind of a weird size. Most of her 12 month tops are too small so her belly sticks out (it's especially bad after she eats dinner) but her pants still fit her fine & the 18 month pants are too big. We just kind of play dress-up everyday to see what works. It's fun for about 2 minutes & then I have to start chasing her through the house to get her dressed...how do I get her to come to me when I say to???
On a different note Lucy is staying very well hydrated these days. She is obsessed with her Young Life nalgene & will sometimes drink 3 of these bad boys a day. I am thankful that she is so well hydrated, but do you have any idea the amount of diapers we go through when she drinks 3 of these a day? Lots!! She also likes to come right up to the camera when I am taking pictures of her. Sweet baby girl.

Pizza Nights & Slumber Party
We love making pizza at our house & it has kind of become a weekend tradition. I love it because it's very easy, yummy, & it feels like a real treat. I found a great pizza dough recipe on this blog, the only thing I do differently is add 2 cups wheat flour & 2 cups white bread flour & a few drops of honey. I love wheat pizza crust & I feel like we are being somewhat healthy by doing that. I made several batches of the dough a few weekends ago on one of my freezer cooking frenzies so all I have to do is pull the dough from the freezer on Saturday morning & it's ready to go by Saturday night. Sometimes I make my own sauce but lately I have been lazy about that. Hope you were able to have some kind of fun treat this weekend!
For some reason it looks like Lucy Jane hates what she is eating, but she really did like it!

Cody's side has sausage left over from b-fast tacos & my side is just plain jane
Friday night I took our girl Young Life leaders out to the lake for a little slumber party & we had so much fun! We borrowed a lake house for the night & spent lots of time eating, hanging-out, & getting to know some of the new girls better. We stayed up til 4am that night & I can't believe that I made it that late, it was worth it. I'm excited to spend the semester ministering to & with these girls.

Missing Everyone...
I feel like every January I feel this way, I start to get a little down & miss all the sweet family we were around during Christmas. Now that everything is back to normal & we are fully back in our school year schedule I get a little sad. We had such a sweet month with Lucy & she had so many people to entertain her 24/7 that she is having a hard time understanding why that isn't happening now & that can get a little frustrating! Don't get me wrong, I love our days & our schedule I think it has something to do with it being cold & summer seems far away... I'm thankful we will get to see everyone sooner than later.
uhh ohh what happened to all my playmates?
Aunt Hannah & Uncle Drew - Lucy got to spend a GREAT weekend with them last weekend.
Lucy missing learning words & playing games with Aunt Boo Boo
Shooting hoops on her new basketball goal with Uncle Luke
Basically missing all these sweet faces...
But so thankful we have fun friends here to spend our days with - like ringing in the New Year with Bailey, Emma, Maddie, & Adele - we love them

The Big Ho Ho Ho
So I finally uploaded all my pics from Christmas last night! Christmas was so fun this year with sweet Lucy Jane. I really think she is going through some what of a depression now that all things Christmas are packed up & gone. She walks into our living room where our Christmas tree used to stand & just stands there & points with this sad look on her face. I explained that it would all be back in just 11 months but she didn't really get it.
We went to see Santa at Bass Pro in San Antonio & they had a great Santa set up. They had a very sweet Santa with fun Santa activities to do while you are waiting. I knew that Lucy would hate Santa but I really wanted to get a picture with her in Santa's lap with her sweet Christmas dress. I know that is kind of mean of me to do, knowing that she would cry, but it's just a picture we had to have! I am really not the crazy Santa parent, I want Lucy to grow up knowing what Christmas is all about & we will definitely talk about Baby Jesus in our house more than Santa but I do think that Santa is a fun Christmas tradition.
Here are some pictures of her first Santa experience:
