Big Girl Food

Lucy Jane pretty much hates baby food now, it's only the real deal for this girl & let me tell you she can eat! Tonight she had macaroni casserole w/ veggies...yummy!

Step 1:
Look over all the food on your tray
Step 2:
Carefully pick up pieces of food with pointer finger & thumbStep 3:
Shove as much as you can in your mouth & enjoy

She also LOVES her new big girl Elmo cup. Although she won't drink milk out of it, we are working on that. She loves to drink water & apple juice.

Summer 2010!!

We had a GREAT summer! It started out really nice & slow & we loved it. Once sports & YL ended we were able to have lots of family time, go on walks every night, be at home all together every night, we loved that time & tried to cherish the slow time.

Mid June Cody & I went to Crooked Creek with all these fun people:

It was an amazing week. We took a huge group from the high school we do YL at & so many of them had life changing experiences. I am thankful we got to be a part of it.

But we sure did miss a sweet little girl! Lucy Jane stayed with my parents for a whole week!! She did great & I know she loved her time with Grammy & Grandpa. I am so thankful they were willing to love on Lucy for a week so we could go to camp, could not have done it without you guys!
A couple weeks after camp we got all done-up for my baby sister, Bekah's wedding. We were all in the wedding & it was so special for all of us to be a part of Bekah & Tyler's big day. She had one of the cutest flower girls ever! After the wedding my family headed out to a little vacation. We were so sad that Bekah + Tyler & Luke +Jane couldn't come, maybe next year! On vacation we did a lot of swimming, eating, being with family, & relaxing. it was great!
Lucy loved the big boatLucy enjoyed watching her first world cup games. She would wave to the players on TV. Already a little sports fan.Next up, was our 3 weeks at Sharp Top. I could probably take up about 5 different blog posts talking about our time at camp, we loved it. It was so special for us to be at camp with Lucy. I hope that Lucy will spend many of her summers at YL camps as they are so special. I loved that she was with us as we served leaders & high school kids & that she got to see many kids come to know Jesus. One of the highlights of being at camp was that we were there with all these kidos. Lucy loved watching all the kids play & she became pretty good friends with all of them by the end of our time. We had 17 kids under 7 on our assignment & most of them lived in the same house with us for 3 weeks. It was great, really it was!
Cody had to leave camp a week early to go back to school so my mom came up to watch Lucy for the last week. Of course, I didn't get any pics of her with Lucy at camp :( She was so great & I could not have done it without her. After camp my mom & I flew to Seattle for my cousins, Abby's wedding. Lucy was a champ on the flight & during the whole trip.

She loved doing a little dancing at the wedding with Uncle TylerWhile in Seattle she saw the ocean for the first time:And got to sight see with Grandma & Aunt Ruth.
I am so thankful for all the adventures we were able to experience this summer. Can't wait til next summer....

We're baaaack!

so i have been trying to blog for the past month or so, but have been having some MAJOR blogger issues, but I think they have been resolved so here we go...

Talkin & Clappin

Lucy has been so much fun lately. She has really started talking & her favorite new trick is clapping. We are still working on waving & blowing kisses, but don't get your hopes up, it has not been a fast process! She has also started pulling up on the furniture & I am not ready for that!

Sum Sum Summertime!

We took Lucy to the pool for the first time this week since it is starting to get really, really hot here. Day one at the pool was not so great, she pretty much cried the whole time & I was crushed. I had no doubt in my mind that Lucy wouldn't Love the pool...I was wrong. But the good news is since then we have gone 3 more times & things are looking up, she is getting used to this whole swimming pool thing.

Day 1:This was the only picture we got on the first day since as soon as she hit the water she screamed & we didn't really want pictures of that.

Day 2 - We went swimming with Emma & Graham, but I didn't get any pictures :( She did so much better & loved watching Emma & Graham swim all around her.

Day 3 - Even better, still does not love the pool, but we are getting there. Her favorite way to suck on her fingers, already showing her loyalty to Texas.

One of her favorite things to do, even in the pool, yell & put the back of her hand over her mouth. She loves the sound it makes!

Saying "hi" or "ba" in Lucy language to mommy

Having a deep conversation with Dad
