ON the move!

Lucy is officially on the move & once again our life has changed forever. She loves being a part of all the action & will do any move she can to make sure she is a part of everything.

I love her little leggings, but Cody hates them so I have to sneak them on her during the day when he is not home :) I think she looks so cute in them!

7 months!

Lucy Jane is 7 months & she looks so big in this picture! She is growing too fast & it's making me sad.

Here are some things she is enjoying doing at 7 months:
*learning to crawl, she is really getting the hang of it
*touching people's faces & pulling hair
*eating chicken mixed with green beans, zucchini, or sweet potatoes
*swinging on her new swing
*sleeping in til 7:30 or 8am
*eating puffs
*learning to clap her hands - the CUTEST thing ever!!

We love you Lucy Jane!

Lucy's First Easter

Cody's sister, Cayce, & her sweet little girls Madison & Harper came to Texas for Easter week so we headed out to Abilene Easter weekend. Lucy loved being with her cousins & it was special to spend Easter weekend with them.

I have loved getting to do all of these "firsts" with Lucy this year, especially all her first holidays. I really love holidays & my family always does such neat things for holidays & I have such great memories of spending holidays with my family. Cody & I are going to try & do that for Lucy, we hope to make holidays special & memorable for her. I can remember my Dad reading scripture to us a lot during family get togethers, especially at Easter & Christmas. Cody has been able to be a part of those times for the past couple of years & he has now started doing that with our little family & I love it. This year before Easter we started reading the Easter story together as a family to get our hearts ready for Easter weekend. We were not the best at doing it every night, we are going to do better next year, but I am glad we have started that tradition.

We had a great Easter celebrating the risen Lord, here are some pics from the weekend:

Grammy got Lucy her first Easter dress. I love it because it's not pink but still very "girly"

The fam on Easter morning

Lucy & Harper - this is the best pic I could get

Lovin the Easter bunny outfit

Nolan & Clara came to say hello - more cousins!

Spring Break

This year for spring break (I know this was about 2 months ago, but I am doing the whole catching-up thing this week) we went down to my parents house to celebrate my Grandma's 80th birthday. The weekend was so much fun as family came in town from Iowa, Florida, & even Washington to celebrate Grandma Shack.

Lucy & her Great Grandma

My Grandma is an amazing woman & I am so blessed to have her in my life. For as long as I can remember her & my Grandpa have always loved all their grand kids so much. They always took time to invest in our lives & to show interest in the things we were interested in. I will never forget how they would travel all the way down from Indiana just to watch us play basketball or soccer.

They have also blessed our family with amazing vacations every year. These vacations are some of my favorite memories from growing up, not just because we went to some amazing places, but because they were sweet times with aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. I hope that we can continue the tradition of family vacations because I want Lucy to grow up having those same experiences, as they were & continue to be some of our happiest times. Can't wait for family vacation this year!!

Thanks for everything Grandma, we love you so much!

During spring break Lucy also got to:
Spend some quality time with her Aunt Marcia & Uncle Terry

Practice walking

Eat peas with Aunt Bekah

Swing at the park with her cool shades

Meet all of her Shackelford cousins

And swing some more!!

6 months!

So, in April Lucy turned 6 months - 1/2 a year old! She is still such a happy & sweet baby girl, we love her so much.

Her 6 month stats are:
15 lbs. 6 oz
25 1/2 inches
*She got her first tooth at about 6 1/2 months

Her daily schedule goes something like this: ( I realize most people don't really care about this but I want to write it down for my own records)

7am - wake up & eat oatmeal with pears & bananas (the doc just told me to start her on 3 solid meals a day)
8-9:30 or 10am - nap
10am - bottle
1 - lunch
1:30 - bottle or nurse
2-4pm - nap
5:30 - dinner
6 - bottle or nurse
8:30 or 9 -bed (bedtime varies depending on what night it is & what we are doing)

New Swing!

So...I have taken a 2 month unintentional break from blogging - oops!! I fully intend to catch - up & write about some of the fun things we have done these past 2 months. So all of my many readers can look forward to posts about Easter, Spring Break, 6 months, 7 months, etc.

Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post about Lucy's new swing. I have been wanting to get her a swing for several months now but have been waiting to find one at a resale shop or a garage sale & last week a local resale shop got one in so I grabbed it.

Thanks Cody for hanging-up the swing today!

If you look closely here you can see her tooth!

And randomly, she started loving her paci again...
