HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I pretty much love any holiday, so even though we didn't have big plans for Halloween, it was still fun. We started out the evening by going to a high school football game, but there were probably a total of 30 kids there, so we talked to them & then headed back to the YL house for a Halloween party. One of our leaders / neighbors has a birthday on Halloween so some other leaders got together to throw him a birthday party / Halloween party.

At the party w/ some of our friends Hayley & Jacob

No time + not much $ = old sing song costume as Halloween costume.

I went as a "league of their own" girl (Ko Jo Kai 04) & Cody was some kind of fat baseball player
I made a birthday / Halloween cake for the party

Last week I had a pumpkin carving party with some of our high school girls - it was fun, but my pumpkin was pathetic! Anyway, for the party I made chocolate chip pumpkin cookies, they were pretty good, here's the recipe in case anyone wants to try them.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies
1 cup crisco
2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 can pumpkin
4 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda and powder
1 tsp salt and cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg and cloves
1 bag chocolate chips and 1 cup nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 375. Cream crisco and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla and pumpkin. Add dry ingredients (flour, soda, and seasonings). Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Bake 12-15 minutes or until edges begin to brown.

**I always add extra cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
