Halloween!!

Halloween started off for us a few weeks ago, we went to a friend's Halloween party & had a blast!

Lucy went as Tinkerbell this year & is not obsessed with Tinkerbell even though she really has no idea who Tinkerbell is, she has only seen her on youtube a couple of times.

Lucy lovin on Little Red Ridding Hood & Dorothy.

All the kids at the party - so fun!

Lucy spent most of the time on the swing set loving her life.

And now for the real night...Tinkerbell & Baby!

Love this tinkerbell!

We went trick or treating at few houses & Lucy loved getting all the candy.  Cody couldn't go with us so our friend Meredith came along.

And here is the morning after Halloween!!!  Notice the tinkerbell PJ's & the candy hang-over, she stayed like this the whole time while watching Elmo!

Baby Update

Poor Baby Boy hasn't gotten much attention lately!  Things are going well, I am super tired & pretty uncomfortable but I am thankful that this little guy is healthy.  I had a sonogram yesterday b/c I was measuring small & they wanted to make sure baby was still growing.  Lucy was the same way so I wasn't too worried about it.  As far as I can tell he is growing fine, he is almost 5lbs & I'm at 34 weeks so that doesn't seem too bad to me.  I go to the doc later this week & hopefully he will confirm that everything looked good.

Here are some pics - hopefully we will meet him in a little over a month :)

This little foot is driving me crazy kicking all the time, but I love seeing it!!

Pumpkin Patch

Despite the pumpkin shortage here we managed to make a trip to a local nursery a couple of weeks ago.  Lucy LOVED it!  She is obsessed with all things fall - pumpkins, scarecrows, etc.  She got to pick out a few pumpkins & was pretty happy about it.

Trying to carry all the heavy pumpkins -she insisted on carrying them herself!

Best I could get, no smile of course

We even got to see the mini horse - look how small & cute the horse is!  Lucy loved it!

Lucy Jane is 2!

Lucy turned 2 a couple of weeks ago & we had a really fun birthday weekend.  I am so thankful for all the friends & family that joined us to celebrate this sweet little girl, she is blessed to have so many people that love her.

Aunt Bekah & Uncle Ty came a day early to help with party planning & to see Lucy.  THANK YOU, thank you to Bekah & Tyler for coming early & helping so much.  They brought their dog & she immediately became Lucy's bff.

Bekah & Lucy painting some party favors.

Now to the actual party.  We had a butterfly themed party this year & I was excited how everything turned out.  I love a good theme party & am always excited to plan one ;)

Butterfly cake!

Cupcakes

Butterfly chocolate pretzels - Bekah made these

Best family picture we could get before the party, Lucy is totally not into pictures these days & it makes me sad.

Party favors

Butterfly hunt with some of her besties.  I am totally regretting not getting a group picture of all her sweet friends that were there.  A few of them I didn't get in any pics at all...bummer.

Happy Birthday to you...

Here she is showing off some of the things that she got for her birthday.  Since she got the kitchen a few people gave her lots of kitchen accessories & it was such a hit.  She loves the apron & oven mitt & has definitely been spotted a few times "cooking' with her purse & of course she has to be wearing someone else's shoes (she has a thing for big shoes).

She got a set of golf clubs from Grandma & Papa & she loves them.  Uncle Kyle is helping her figure out her swing.

Sunday was her actual Birthday so she got to have her traditional pumpkin pancake, shaped in a 2!

Finally caught her sweet smile on camera!!!  Many thanks to Grammy & new Dora doll for the great smile.

Happy Birthday Lucy Jane!  You have brought so much joy into our lives & I look forward to spending everyday with you & watching you learn & grown.  You are a sweet girl who loves being around family & friends.  You live for play dates with Emma & Graham & with grandparents & aunts & uncles.

Here are a few of your favorite things to do/say/eat lately:
*Everything you see you ask, "what that?" You are so curious!
*You are in LOVE with Dora & request to watch a "Dida chow" (Dora show) often.  You have seen "Dora gets a Puppy" about 50,000 times because it's the only show on our i-touch & you watch it everytime we go to a sporting even at least 3 times & we go to a lot of sporting events.
*You love when "gurls & guys" (high school girls & guys) come over to our house.  At first you are shy but then you get super crazy.
* You love going to school & on the way to school you always say these things "I go schoooool.  No push.  I nice"
*You randomly love celery, anything sweet, yogurt, fruit, & cheese.
* You can count to 12 & to 5 in Spanish & you are doing really well in recognizing letters.
* You always remind us to pray before meals & bed. I hope this habit continues.
* You love to "pay boll" (play ball) wear your clack, clacks (dress up shoes), cook, & read books.

We love you so much Lucy Jane.  I wish I could stop time because this is such a fun stage but I know there will be lots of fun things & some not so fun things about 2 & 3.

Best Dad Ever!

Cody made Lucy a kitchen for her birthday & she LOVES it!  I saw the idea online this summer & showed it to Cody & he totally ran with it.  He worked really hard on it & did everything himself (except for the curtains - thanks Grandma & Grammy!).

He started out with this little thing he got off Craig's list:

And by Lucy's b-day he had it turned into this:
Lucy is in LOVE with it & plays with it ALL the time.  It's the perfect 2 year old gift.  Thanks to lots of family who helped to stalk her kitchen for her birthday she has lots of things to cook & learn with.

Fall Saturdays

It officially feels like somewhat of fall here because of what our Saturdays are starting to look like.  I really really hope we are done with the 100+ temps but I don't want to speak too soon.  This week it has been amazing in the 70's & 80's & we are loving life in those temps.

Fall Saturdays many times = football for our family.  Now that Cody is done with grad school (YAY!) he is much more available on Saturdays to actually do something besides study & write papers.  Recently he discovered his new favorite game, spike ball, & it is a huge hit for high school & college people.  It's pretty much tearing up our yard & last week  right after I had finally cleaned my floors I came home to boys playing spike ball outside & a mud covered living room & kitchen....I know God is just getting me ready for boys.
Spike ball

Pretty typical of what happens in the kitchen on football days, a whole batch of cookie dough from Sam's in consumed & lots of pizza, this was after most people left.
Lucy isn't really into football so she mostly just runs around outside trying to see if anyone will play with her.  Luckily this weekend she had 2 birthday parties to attend on Saturday & she loved them.  The first party was dinosaur themed, it was at nature center in town & was so fun.

Loved digging for dinosaur bones.

Lucy with the birthday boy, Asher
The next party was an All Star party & Lucy proudly wore her Texas cheerleader outfit.  She learned to say "Go Horns" earlier that day.
Lucy & Reese, they are good friends but always want the same toy, it causes a lot of problems.

All the parties were getting Lucy excited about her party, coming up in just 2 short weeks...
